Even though Girl Scout Cookie season has come and gone, it doesn’t mean that you have to stop enjoying these treats. “How can that be?”, you may ask. The answer is quite simple….you make them yourself!
Making homemade girl scout cookies really isn’t as difficult as it may seem. There are actually quite a few benefits of baking the cookies yourself, rather than buying them. First of all, they are fresh and flavorful. In addition to their taste, you can also vary the size of your cookies. Personally, I think the original girl scout cookies are a little too small, so I make my versions bigger
Lastly, creating homemade versions of girl scout cookies is fun and rewarding. It is amazing to see how you can take a commercial dessert and recreate it right in your kitchen.
Over the next few weeks, I will be posting video demonstrations and recipes for some of my favorite girl scout cookies including Thanks a Lots, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Patties, and Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies. Please let me know what your favorite girl scout cookie is and if there is another variation you would like to see posted!
Today’s recipe is of Thanks a Lots: a buttery shortbread dipped in a rich, dark chocolate. Enjoy!
